Overview
This is a fun way to get exercise, build confidence and learn new skills. There are bikes available for everyone to use.
Transport & Parking
The car park is available throughout the day for parking, we had 2 minibuses. Once parked the car park is safe to use for cycling once cones are out. Flat surface and easy to walk on.
Access
Seats were provided for those who were watching and waiting for their turn. The walkway from the carpark to the bikes and football pitch is all concrete.
Toilets
There is a disabled toilet with hand rails and a good size to manoeuvre a standard sized wheelchair however there is no "changing places" toilet.
Staff
David Glover and his team of volunteers are very helpful and patient. They are able to pair the person with a bike or 2 to try out and see what individuals prefer.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The team are very safety conscious providing safety helmets and ensuring seating is comfortable. They have a good knowledge of different people and how to assess their needs. We went with a group of people with various abilities and everyone was able to join in, there was a front loading bike for a wheelchair user to use, side by side bikes, trikes and a tandem for a person who is able bodied but blind. Everyone had a thoroughly great time and are excited to go back again.
