Very accessible, lots of thought gone into making the day wheelchair and disability friendly, would recommend to anyone.

Transport & Parking

There are many different disabled bays for car parking as well as a fully accessible park and ride bus that runs throughout the day from the car parks to the main visitor’s centre and vis versa.

Access

Level access is throughout the Eden project which makes it very accessible for individuals with any form of disability. There are also several maps in the domes highlighting the areas in which wheelchairs accessible (which is almost everywhere) and any area which would be unsuitable are signposted beforehand letting people know. There are also a number of recommended routes for wheelchair users to use when going to biomes that have different gradients and includes the land train which can take you from the visitor’s centre to the biomes.

Toilets

There are toilets located in the visitor’s centre and the Link in between the biomes, they have room for wheelchair access plus assistance if needed. They also have hoists that can be used, an adjustable changing bench and a shower. The toilets are also fitted with a description service for those who are visually impaired describing the room making it easier for them to use the room.

Staff

There is no admission charge for personal assistants, and Eden also have access volunteers on sight (however booking two weeks in advance is required) to help assist people in their visit. There is a hearing loop that visitors have access to at the main visitor’s centre on arrival (it’s on till number 13).

Anything else you wish to tell us?

When I visited there was the space exhibition which was all wheelchair accessible as well as a children’s performance that was in one of the biomes was also suitable for wheelchair access. Overall The Eden Project is very well organised for wheelchair and disability access. Lots to see and do, well worth the visit for all the family.
