Overview
A fab day out - huge thought has gone into wheelchair accessibility, including having a Changing Places toilet.
Transport & Parking
Lots of parking for Blue Badge holders. We were directed to the car park nearest the attraction which was on fairly level ground and felt safe when using the wheelchair lift on the car as it was a quiet car park.
Access
There is a choice of ways to reach the biomes. An attractive bridge and lift, a long zigzag path and a land train which has a carriage which can have 3 wheelchairs safely secured. All the paths are wide and, despite the naturally hilly landscape it is brilliantly accessible to wheelchair users.
Toilets
They have regular toilets and accessible toilets throughout the Eden Project and also have a Changing Places toilet with a hoist and bench. Plenty of room for carers. The space enabled me to easily use the hoist to transfer my son from his large powered wheelchair, to the bench, then toilet and back again.
Staff
Staff were brilliant. Everyone we met was helpful and polite.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The main restaurant was difficult to navigate with a powered wheelchair so we just selected some snacks from an easily accessible area but then found it was not obvious where to pay. Clear signage would make it more obvious, with perhaps a second pay point for those just purchasing snacks.
