Venue Description
The Museum holds a lot of material on the local area including the surrounding villages - this includes fossils, archaeological artefacts and information, local history, large collections of maps, and postcards.
Accessibility
The Museum is all on one floor. However 3 rooms are at a slightly different level but this is not a problem at all to disabled visitors because there is a big permanent ramp to allow easy access. There is a metaled ramp about 50 feet long leading to the front door; this ramp can be accessed from the pavement without any step at all. The doorway is wide enough to allow wheelchair access. The doorway is wide enough to allow wheelchair access. Going through the front door there is a very small step. There is a toilet which is accessible because it is on the same level as the 3 rooms just mentioned, accessed via a permanent main ramp.
Accessible Performances
Performances would be talks to the public - these are usually in the Reception area which is the first area through the main front door.
Toilets
There is 1 toilet with the usual facilities - toilet, sink. It is accessed by a door from the main part of the Museum.
Staff
Staff are all volunteers and are not specially trained regarding disabilities.
