Overview
Average access at the court buildings. Level entrance with high threshold. Push button automatic disabled door Staff help with the security checks to lift my bags up. I was scanned and patted down in my chair. Lift access to all floors. I used floor 2 and only found one disabled toilet which was often occupied and the door handle was repeatedly tried when I used it. I found staff and security guards using it which was frustrating. There was an accessible coffee shop onsite for snacks and sandwiches etc. There was water provided in tribunal rooms. I attended using a manual wheelchair and requested additional toilet breaks and if I could stay in my chair when giving evidence. I took a "McKenzie friend" support person to assist me. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Parking was limited and I had to park on next street.
Transport & Parking
Few disabled spaces. Struggled to get parked anywhere. Parked on next street.
Access
Fully accessible and on the level. The doors are heavy and a challenge to open in a chair.
Toilets
Good turning spaces. Clean, multiple handrails. Biggest issue was the toilet area doors to it were an access issue where you had to keep closing doors to get past in or out. It was a bit complicated, esp if other people about. Got very congested. Staff were using it including security which was frustrating as I only had ten mins break and it was the only accessible toilet. It felt like they needed more accessible toilets.
Staff
Staff were very helpful.
