Overview
The cathedral is stunning and now has an accessible Open Treasure exhibition. However, the disabled spaces behind the building have lost their posts and one hosted a skip for months. The land at the front, Palace Green is owned by the university and there is no disabled parking. Abus runs twice an hour Mon to Sat but not on Sunday or public holidays. If there is a push chair or wheelchair already on board, tough luck. The Cathedral has just won a Heritage Lottery award despite these deficiencies which they are trying to address but it seems to take for ever.
Transport & Parking
Twice an hour bus in the week until 6pm. No disabled parking on palace Green .Accessible parking in the College limited and well hidden
Access
Lift to new accessible Open Treasure. Inadequate disabled loo at back of Cathedral, it does not meet legal requirements. The new one in Open Treasure is properly constituted.
Toilets
The original disabled loo is not adequate ,the new one is.
Staff
Always keen to assist.
