Overview
I've been to this store several times now. I tend to shop off peak when it is quieter but have always found the store to be easy to access and get around. Even during Covid, when nearby public toilets on the retail park were closed, Dunelm kept their toilets open.
Transport & Parking
The entrance to Dunelm is just after (or before, depending on direction) the main retail park. There are several blue badge spaces on either side of the entrance. We tend to park at Dunelm and then walk back to the main retail park. There is a good pavement but often find broken glass in places, which isn't great for tyres or paws!
Access
The main doors open automatically and I find getting in, around and out quite easy. There is a lift to the first floor, which is quite big but very slow! At the moment, due to Covid, only one person is allowed in the lift at a time, so at busy times, it could mean a fair wait. The lift has a door at each end so you don't have to turn around or reverse. There is sufficient space to move around in my wheelchair with my assistance dog attached on my left. The check out area is the only bit that can get a bit tight... but only when busy.
Toilets
The toilets are upstairs in the back corner behind all the bathroom stuff. The door isn't automatic, but is usually propped open. The accessible toilet is between the ladies and the gents. At the moment, the sanitising station is a bit in the way. It meant my assistance dog had to go in front of me to get through. The toilet itself is a reasonable size, clean and had good handwashing facilities.
Staff
We have always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble.
