Overview

Delicious food in a largely accessible restaurant

Transport & Parking

Car park out the front. Sign from main road not that obvious, so keep your eyes peeled.

Access

Car park has medium sized gravel, which was a bit of a challenge for my scooter - but with a shove from my Dad I made it to the gently sloping concrete ramp to the wide front door. Plenty of room to get about inside, including in the restaurant.

Toilets

Not bad, not bad. It's close to the Reception desk, just across from the restaurant dining room. Somewhat unusually, the cubicle with the accessible loo is within the gents, so you enter into the area with the urinals before going into the cubicle. If my Dad was not available to check that the gents was empty and then guard the door for me, staff were happy to do so. Here's where it gets weird though. The cubicle is big, with plenty of space to move around, an easy lock, and grab rails around the toilet itself. There's also a big sink with nice soap - no grab rails anywhere near it though. But there's no way to dry your hands within the cubicle - you have to unlock the door (with your wet slippery hands) and go out into the main loo (yes, with the urinals) to find a hand dryer. A weird omission I thought.

Very nice and from all different corners of the world.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

We had an early dinner booking and actually arrived before the dining room was open, so we were directed to the bar. It was packed with LOUD people, and given that there were no soft surfaces to dampen the noise, we temporarily gave up on conversation and concentrated on our excellent gin and tonics (in big balloon glasses). The bar seems to have been decorated with the contents of somebody's abandoned attic. Fortunately the dining room is very pleasantly designed, with what I'm assured would have been fab views if it had stopped raining... Food was great - local meat, fish and produce, and they make a point of the kitchen being happy to make any tweaks required. Evening menu is reasonably priced (set prices for 2 or 3 courses - and I'd certainly recommend three!).
