Overview

My first ever time going to Duff House and I will definetly be back. A lift to gallery floors is available and wheelchairs can be provided on request. Really nice staff who done everything to make sure I had a good time.

Transport & Parking

3

I travelled via car and the first thing that I noticed was that the signs to the car park are not very clear. There is a disabled car parking space (Only one) right beside the house but I never noticed. Could be much clearer.

Access

4

The access in the house is pretty good. Wheelchair users use a door at the side of the house to get in, you have to ring a bell to get in but I wouldn't of knew that if it hadn't been for my Dad who noticed that it said "Please press the button" about 6ft from ground level. However, the button that wheelchair users have to press is at a good height for a wheelchair user. Access within the house was excellent with smooth floors throughout, perfect for wheelchair users. Some wheelchair users may find the corridors a bit tight. There is a lift to take you up to the 2nd and 3rd floor which makes the house accessible. If you're planning on going up to the 2nd floor then reverse into the lift before you enter the lift as there is not much room at floor 2.

Toilets

3.5

There was an accessible toilet and it was big a spacious. I am not a expert of disabled toilets but I am pretty sure that the red cable was tangled.

Staff

5

The staff were 5 star. I was greeted at the door by a member of staff who showed me to the reception, the receptionist was really nice and all the guides at each floor were all helpful and acted like they were genuinely proud of Duff House, the member of staff at the coffee shop was also nice.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

You can watch a film about the story of Duff House beside the reception. The coffee shop is lovely and relaxing but please note that there is not toffee on your table. I thought it was toffee, so I ate it. It wasn't toffee. It was brown sugar.

Photos

Duff House Disabled Toilet I thought it was toffee. It wasn't. Apparently, this is worth 10 million! Sign for parking and access. Picasso painted this.
