Overview

This is a great, good value hotel, very accessible and lovely contemporary décor in north Dublin. It also serves food and drink in their Botanical restaurant. It was a real find and would definitely go back to if I am in Dublin again.

From the airport I was able to take the local 16 or 41 bus to Dorset Street Lower and the hotel was 2 minutes walk away, just round the corner. The bus fare was 2.50 euros and the journey time was about 35-40 minutes. There are several, regular local buses that stop round the corner from the hotel, on the main road, and will take you into the town centre in 10 minutes. A 5-8 minute walk will take you to Drumcondra Rail Station, which has step free access via a lift.

Access

The entrance has two sets of automatic double doors. This leads into a foyer and reception desk. There are lifts to all floors. However, I was given 016, a ground floor, accessible room. The room was spacious with bed, comfy chair, desk, an area to hang up your clothes and a television. The en suit bathroom had wheels in shower, plenty of grab rails and was spacious, clean and well maintained. There were 2 emergency cords in the bathroom one by the toilet and the other by the shower, plus an emergency cord by the bed. My room was very quiet and I slept really well every night. The restaurant is accessible by lift or stairs with handrails both side, and is at a slightly lower level than the foyer. There is a menu with a nice selection of food which was reasonably priced. On arriving and checking out, I was able to leave my case with the hotel.

Fabulous, they went out of their way to assist. I was given a ground floor room so I did not need to use the lift. One day when I came back with bags of shopping the receptionist went and left it in my room so I could just go and eat in the restaurant straight away. Front of house and waiters in restaurant were all extremely friendly and service in the restaurant was very good.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I chose this hotel for a couple of reasons. I was looking for somewhere it had good public transport links on its doorstep (so I didn't waste precious spoons getting from A to B) and I wanted somewhere with a restaurant onsite or close by so father day of being out I could have a relaxing evening meal without too much effort. This fitted the bill perfectly and I was delighted with my choice. Would definitely stay there again, as it ticked all the boxes perfectly. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay.
