Review of the beautiful and pretty accessible Gardens
Visit date:
Overview
We were camping next to the grounds of this beautiful castle and gardens. We've been before and couldn't wait to go back.
Transport & Parking
We walked here, but there is a long drive up to the castle up a grand driveway - I think there's accessible parking spaces.
Access
Thi is only a review of the castle grounds. The grass paths where wide, cut short and easy to walk on. The gardens where landscaped in a Matrix style and grass ramps do go down to the different levelled terraces but they might be too step for wheelchair users. The gravelled pathways are wide with clear edging, and the gravel is not too thick so its easier to walk on. There are also ramps between the change of gravel to grass in some areas. We did not go into the house, tea rooms and toilets.
Toilets
We did not go into the house, tea rooms and toilets.
Staff
Did not encounter any, as we went via 'the back door.'
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I am aware that this is not a full review and I'm sorry that I did not think to check the toilets, but if you are in the area, check out these beautiful gardens - it even has the oldest Douglas Fir in Scotland.
