Overview
I liked EVERYTHING about my visit, very friendly staff, amazing food and beverages! Which are all locally sourced, the presentation of the food is just amazing for a cafe ! The views from inside and outside are breathtaking, the access for disabled is truly 100% if you have an issues regarding the food or drinks served, speak to a staff member and it will be resolved right away . I have never had any reason to complain and I visit on a regular basis now, as I feel so welcomed and comfortable in the surroundings I love the food and coffee ,all the scones and cakes etc are homemade ,and locally sourced, they support local businesses like our local butcher ,the local farmer provides the vegetables, etc ! They will cater for any dietary needs ! It is dog friendly, for outside seating only unless it is a service dog . The prices are very good considering the quality of the food and beverages. Nothing is too much for them, you will always find happy friendly staff ,the owner of the business is always around if you wish to speak with her and she will answer any questions you may have regarding the business. They do these amazing snack boxes, and afternoon tea boxes which I have had on a few occasions now ,as I was in hospital and my husband told the owner as she was asking where I was,so she made me up a box of amazing goodies and my hubby brought them in to me in hospital . It was a life saver as we all know what hospital food is like ๐ ( yuck) I almost forgot to mention they have an outside caravan type trailer where you can buy take away food and beverages, to eat outside, or in your car, or to take home, the menu for the van is a little less complicated, it serves a variety of things but not everything you would find on the inside menu. Again I would say for take away or eating outside itโs more than adequate. What made it special ~ The food, the staff, the atmosphere, the stunning views of the Bass Rock and beaches surrounding it ,the sea life that you just may be fortunate to see, on my last visit we saw a hump back whale , and on another visit I saw a pod of dolphins, you can see many varieties of sea birds so yes it is my TOP rated cafe /restaurant , and you never get tired of the views or the food. So being a wheelchair user ,I have found the Drift Cafe one of the BEST for every aspect of your visit ,the car park has pebbles so if you do use a wheelchair, I suggest you park in the disabled parking bays as they are close to the entrance and itโs not quite as bumpy as the top end of the car park . I have never had an issue with getting from my car to the cafe. . I say all of the above in complete honesty, so if passing through North Berwick ,I recommend highly you stop and taste some of the wonderful delights on sale ,if you wish to sit indoors call ahead of your trip to avoid disappointment and book a table . They are mostly to full capacity so it is wise to make a booking if you know your planning on visiting . ๐ฏ ๐ฏ ๐ฏ Best Cafe /restaurant in East Lothian I would say .
