Overview

Rang week before going for an event to check disabled access & was reassured. They even put note beside my name to leave space for wheelchair. On arrival found doors locked. Mix up with ticket times. Nothing to do with the centre but the event management. However, on seeing me in wheelchair outside with my husband , we were quickly brought inside & shown to their Art gallery to wait. Entrance on flat ground floor with ramp down to gallery. Low push button door opening accessible from wheelchair. Very attentive staff. On opening they escorted us up in lift where I was shown to my wheelchair space on front row. Chair beside had reserved sign on it with our name. I can’t comment on the loos as didn’t go, but based on everything else I would say they would have been acceptable. I felt the staff went above & beyond to make me welcome & comfortable. Based on this experience alone I will definitely be back & encourage others to do so as well. Lovely venue, lovely staff & glad to say, very disabled friendly 😊

Transport & Parking

Due to its town location it has no direct car parking of its own. However there are several car parks very close by. Close enough to commute via wheelchair. The staff were very helpful in telling us where they were located. There is also on street parking very close too. All just a short stroll. You can be dropped off & picked up at door if that’s more convenient.

Access

Disabled access excellent. Flat ground floor entrance with ramps to lower level rooms & lift to upper. Access button to open doors situated low enough to be operated from wheelchair. We were given a reserved wheelchair space on front row which was fantastic for watching the event we went to see.

Staff

The staff here were exceptional. Warm, friendly & exceptionally welcoming. Opened up to let us in early & showed us to a lovely warm Art gallery were we could wait comfortably. They were very attentive throughout. When opened officially they escorted us up in lift to the theatre were our ‘reserved’ space & chair (their doing ) awaited us. We couldn’t have been happier.
