Nice hotel, poor accessible bedroom bathroom

Overview
I stayed here with my husband for 2 nights. The entrance is slightly narrow. The accessible bedroom is in a separate part of the hotel, accessed via a staff hallway past the kitchen, which was always covered in staff shoes needing moved. The bedroom was a good size but the bathroom is not suitable for a full time wheelchair user, with limited mobility. The shower has a large shower tray with a slight lip, and a separate stool. However the biggest problem is the bathroom door, which swings into the room. Once a wheelchair is in , you can not close the door or access the hand basin, which ends up behind the door. See photos. When pointed out to staff they said they would have the door changed, but please check that this has been done before you go.
Transport & Parking
There is parking in the street, fairly close to the hotel entrance. There is a car park at the back, which was full and was very very muddy
Access
Level doorway but narrow and heavy doors so a little awkward
Toilets
One at the front door, near the bar. Quite far away from restaurant
Staff
Staff were very nice and helpful. However, were very defensive when I pointed out the problems with the bathroom in the room. They stated that the bathroom was only partially adapted and only suitable for those with a carer. However, prior to my booking I had discussed the room by email and none of this was mentioned
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Breakfast was good and restaurant staff very helpful. Didn't have a evening meal as they are expensive
