Overview

The venue is a couple of miles from the town centre where the River Ness meets the Moray Firth, therefore you would need your car or take a taxi to visit if in a wheelchair, otherwise it is a long walk. They do have a minibus service though if you don't need a wheelchair. The ticket office is very roomy and accessible, as are the adjoining cafe and toilets. Everything is flat and spacious and I found no problems when I got there. I was really impressed by the smooth and manageable ramp leading down to the boat and once on board I was really pleased to see how much room there was; I could turn very easily and was able to have a 360 degree view. If the boat was really busy, this might have been a bit more difficult. I had the choice of sitting both outside on deck or inside and both had amazing views!

Transport & Parking

Parking was really good with lots of spaces, however, there is no accessible bus service to the venue. They do have a minibus service for people who can use it.

Access

Toilets

There were two accessible toilets at the ticket office and access was great; there was a red cord within reach and grab bars and it was lovely and clean. There were no disabled toilets on the boat itself.

Staff were brilliant, helpful and friendly!

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I had a fantastic day out here and really enjoyed it! There were dolphins in the far distance (not everyone saw them) and various seabirds. An added bonus for me was that I had an unobscured view as the safety barrier was at the perfect height for sitting in a wheelchair. It was really nice just to be in the boat and enjoy the boat, the landscape and the whole experience of being at sea; I would recommend the trip whether you see any dolphins or not.
