Overview
Pub 5 of the second day of my accessibility pub crawl in Broughty Ferry. Doc Ferry’s is a level access pub off the main street.
Transport & Parking
There are council car parks/on street parking close by and taxi rank is also nearby. There are also plenty of buses that pass through Broughty Ferry on regular basis. A train station is also situated in Broughty Ferry although I don’t know anything about how often they stop, I know it’s not that much though.
Access
There are two entrances to this pub. One of the entrances are labelled as the disabled access and has a bell to ring for assistance but, I don’t know why this was here. There was no step at either door and I feel the door that isn’t labelled as the disabled has better access. Although throughout the whole pub I don’t really feel it is very spacious, I did visit on a Friday night and it was very busy. So maybe on a quieter day it would feel more spacious.
Toilets
There is no disabled toilet in this pub and there is a sign to say this at one of the entrances. Down at the beach in Broughty Ferry there is a changing place although, it is only open till 5pm in the Summer and 3:30pm in the Winter.
Staff
I did not interact with any staff when I visited this pub as someone else went to the bar.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I was surprised that this Doc Ferry’s Bar was accessible as I have not visited it before. You can see how I entered this pub in my video linked below (skip to 5:32 to see this pub).
