Overview
Surprisingly nice! I got given a voucher for afternoon tea as a present. To be honest I wasn't expecting a lot - it's predominantly a garden centre but it was really nice. I booked online and there wasn't an option to say I was a wheelchair user, they had set up the table in area that had steps up to it. The lady offered to move it all down to another table, luckily I can walk so we left it where it was. Nice we sign on the table with my name on. The food arrived on a lovely three tiered stand, finger sandwiches on the bottom (not 100% what some of them were, but they tasted nice), wholemeal scones with butter, jam & clotted cream in the middle and some sweet treats on the top. Pots of tea quickly followed (about enough for a cup & 1/2). Didn't take long for dad and I to demolish all the food, and ask for a tea top up. Sadly they just added hot water to the existing tea bag so it was bit weak. Would I go again? Yeah probably it wasn't very expensive and a nice way to maybe catch up with a friend.
Transport & Parking
Plenty disabled bays right outside the door.
Access
Easy smooth access from the car park into the shop. The only part that had steps was one seating area in the cafe area (i.e. where my table was!).
Toilets
Well set out, though a very wet floor around the toilet which made me nervous of sliding. Also the baby changing area was a whole bench top which took up a lot of floor space as it wasn't folding.
Staff
They were ok, the lady I first spoke to seemed a little miffed to start with when she seen my wheelchair and thought she'd have to move all the stuff down to another table. The servers however were lovely. Would have been nice to be told what each item was though.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
When I booked online I was able to add notes about allergies and dietary requirements. I have a tomato intolerance and happily nothing on our stand had any tomatoes in.
