good inside and out for wheelchair
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair
Overview
Large garden centre with café and clothing etc. Plenty of room to get about (except in the Clothing / Household section which is pretty cramped for a large wheelchair to get though without pulling stuff off the rails) and helpful staff.
Transport & Parking
Plenty of blue badge car spaces, but it gets very busy and these fill up quickly (often with mum's and kids who don't have badges but want a space near the entrance).
Access
Café and garden centre has good access for a large wheelchair. The clothing area not so much as the rails are packed in more tightly.
Toilets
corridor is a bit tight as you have to negotiate a corner to access the disabled loo.
Staff
the staff we met were all very helpful. We've been here a couple of times in the past few weeks buying things for a new accessible garden that we're trying to create. On both occasions a very helpful man has fetched and carried for us - I think the lady on the till said his name is Armon (sorry if I've spelt that wrong!), and he's helped us load the car. Nice as well that they speak to Mum rather than talking over her head and addressing me.
