Overview
Really pleased to finally check out the Design Museum - it’s been on my ‘to visit’ List since it opened!! Easy to get in and easy to get around... interesting things to see, read about, watch and interact with. Will definitely be going back!
Transport & Parking
Stayed nearby so it was easy to get to for us. There are a couple of blue badge parking spaces that are available but the museum suggest that you book these in advance. The museum is located in High Street Kensington so there are buses that stop nearby. There is High Street Kensington tube station nearby - but this is not wheelchair accessible.
Access
Access at the museum is great - which is no surprise given it only opened a short time ago. We only visited the free ‘Maker’ exhibition as the other exhibitions were sold out. However this was worth the visit itself - lots of very interesting objects - many of which you would recognise as having used or owned previously! Exhibits were at many different heights and displayed in different ways so you could get up close. Subtitled vidéos with headsets also dotted around so you could get more detail on some of the displays. The Maker exhibition is in the top floor - accessible from a decent sized lift. There are two shops - one in the museum itself and one in a separate building near the entrance.
Toilets
Saw signs for the accessible loo but didn’t use it.
