Overview
Accessible from the street by ramp and the parts I visited inside were fully accessible.
Transport & Parking
I do not drive so unsure about the parking - although parking in Derby centre isn't easy. The Council offices are well served by buses.
Access
I have not seen round the whole building but the central hall and the library are fully accessible. There were no signs showing best routes, although there were staff one could ask. The accessible toilet was signposted but the sign was small. Seating is available.
Toilets
The signage isn't great; a member of staff directed me to the toilet. Accessed by radar key, this is a fully furnished 'changing places' loo, with a hoist, padded bed and shower - and instructions on how to use the equipment are included. There is ample space for a wheelchair and for more than one person. My only gripe was that the absence of a toilet roll holder meant toilet paper had been placed on the cistern and was difficult to reach.
Staff
The staff I encountered were fine, but there are a lot of guards around and I found that somewhat nerve-racking.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I would visit again, to use the library PCs if nothing else. I have not used the Council contact points - but help does seem to be available to enable the public to do whatever it is they come to the venue to do.
