Overview
Very good parking - large disability bays with ramps onto the kerb, and a ramp leading down into the foyer.
Transport & Parking
We got a bit lost due to roadworks but it wasn't too difficult to find otherwise! It took us an hour coming from Glasgow.
Access
No lift as it wasn't required - everything is on one level. The tunnel was good but may have been difficult to get a wheelchair user around. It is part conveyor and part normal floor, but rather narrow. It was difficult for te person I was with, who has an unsteady gait, to walk around easily. The rest of the aquarium was spacious, and easy to manoever around. Some of the ramps, were rather steep so this may prove difficult for some wheelchair users.
Toilets
It was roomy, very clean, with grab rails and an emergency cord in place. No hoisting equipment or changing facilities.
Staff
The reception staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. We didn't encounter many other staff except in the cafe and gift shop. No one stood out in particular but no complaints!
Anything else you wish to tell us?
It's fairly costly for quite a small venue, although I appreciate the cost of running and maintaining an aquarium must be high! Carers go free. The cafe was well laid out at one side for wheelchair users, or hose who need some extra space, but crowded towards the entrance which required some seat shuffling.
