Overview

A really stunningly good meal that (almost) made up for our accommodation in the attached Court Hotel. Do NOT stay at the Court Hotel (not at all disabled friendly, however hard they have tried), but the restaurant is definitely worth a trip to visit. The staff were very helpful and friendly (as were the hotel staff!) and helped us with our menu and beer choices (and cows milk intolerance difficulties). I had a starter of Buffalo Mozzarella and asparagus on tomato couscous, then sea bream fillets and clams on black spaghetti. My husband had the set menu of Raw meat with Thai style beansprout and pepper salad; Smoked mackerel and coconut risotto with broccoli; and Coffee cream ganache with vanilla ice-cream. All was beautifully presented, and tasted wonderful.

Transport & Parking

There is no parking in the old town. We had booked to stay at the attached Court House Hotel (parking for the hotel was about 20 minutes (able bodied) walk away, but we were able to park briefly outside to unload - and then the next day to pack up and leave). My advice would be to get a taxi - or go by mobility scooter. I also doubt any buses go down these narrow streets.

Access

Access to the restaurant is no problem. There is a wheelchair lift at the front of the building (it also will take a mobility scooter) - you ask at the hotel reception for someone to call it down. It is not covered, so you will get wet in the rain. Once up to the hotel reception, there is step free access to the restaurant. The seating is a mixture of high stools and normal chairs. We were taken to an appropriate table, that I could park my wheelchair at. No difficulty manoeuvering my wheelchair around the restaurant.

Toilets

An accessible toilet is available in the basement - accessed by lift. It has grab rails and plenty of space, but also in the basement was a disco. We were there early on a Thursday evening - it might be much more crowded, noisy and less appealing late on a Friday or Saturday night.
