Overview
We had a lovely short hike here whilst passing through on holiday. We weren't really sure what to expect as a previous review wasn't very positive. We found it to be a nice walk though and would definitely come again if we were nearby. It isn't the easiest easy access walk but with an off-road wheelchair, it is certainly doable. The previous reviewer is right though, it is steep in places.
Transport & Parking
We arrived by motorhome and found it easy enough to park, even with a big vehicle. Parking is random - no marked bays and no blue badge area but plenty big enough. Initially we set off from the wrong end of the car park though, along a route that was quite challenging. Eventually turned back and corrected the plan.
Access
The 'easy access' route is about a mile and is circular. We thought that wouldn't be enough, but with our initial wrong turn and then the steep path up to the circular walk, it was plenty. The initial path up is steep and windy. In my mountain trike, I managed without help but it would have been difficult in a normal wheelchair. Once up to the top though, the rest of the route was wide paths and reasonably flat. The surface varied. Again, probably not great for many chairs but good for an off-road chair or tramper.
Toilets
No toilets here. There may be some down the road at 7Stanes
