Cross Roads Hotel Restaurant Weedon

This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair
Overview
Good place let down by badly maintained equipment and over helpful pushy staff trying to make up for it (or hide it). A bit of maintenance and staff training wouldn't go amiss. May go back sometime to see if stuff has been fixed, if not then I will go elsewhere.
Transport & Parking
Large car park but only two disabled spaces. Although they where the closest ones to the entrance.
Access
Long gently sloping ramp to entrance but uneven slabs making progress difficult for wheelchair. Inside lobby wheelchair lift to raise approx 3 feet to Restaurant. Assisted by reception staff whether I wanted it or not. When up to restaurant level gate opened and switch/lock mechanism fell off. When challenged, staff said it wasn't actually "broken" it had "just fallen off" and it had been like that for some time. It was then pushed back into place to prove that! It fell off again when going back down later. Floors in restaurant flat but not level (it is a historic building).
Toilets
Proper large accessible toilet, let down by normal domestic size and height pan and loose toilet seat. (reported to staff 13.05.15).
Staff
Restaurant staff fine. Reception staff rather pushy, they insisted on operating the lift. Not sure if that was because it was Health and Safety Policy, knowing the lift was faulty or assuming I lacked mental capacity to do it myself due to being in a wheelchair!!
