This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Symbol Cane
Overview
From the experiences I received, I would not go back here or recommend to anyone. They have numerous nominations and awards for the produce they have, sadly none for customer service, recognition of a blind person with a symbol cane or a friendly warm, demeanour. If it were not for another customer informing me that there was no one else in the shop, I could have continued to be there for another 10 minutes and not be recognised as the staff were too busy bitching about their emloyees. When I asked for the range of produce I wanted I was informed - it’s behnd you, they are on the other side of the shop, take your items over to the counter and pay for them there, most uncommunicative, unhelpful and gave me the best impression they could not be bothered. Only positive thing was sliding entrance and exit doors.
Transport & Parking
Bus stop, service 8 outside the shop and on the other side of the road, this is a steep, uneven street with narrow pavements, the nearest tram stop is 350m at York Place. Blue badge parking only.
Access
Only sliding open doors for the access and exit.
Toilets
Staff
No observation or recognition skills that would benefit a B, VI or PS person, I cannot say if the same response would be given to another customer with any disability learning or otherwise.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Did I catch them on a bad day, would they rather have been in the sunshine or watching the football. The ways an older female and male were bitching about other staff suggests its got personnel issues, this only added to the poor experience, it’s a pity it’s so negative. It is only fair that I edit my review to include the following. Last night having cooked and eaten the produce - they are well worthy of their nominations and awards, all they need to do is put some of that into their customer service.
