Overview
Two visits in one month at our home from home -it really doesn’t feel like a holiday cottage anymore . So restful, quiet,in a beautiful setting and the village itself, has 2 great pubs in walking/pushing distance. Steve the owner has equipped it well and taken note of suggestions over the years . There’s wide doors, wet room, shower chair/commode, hoist , profile bed, riser recliner chairs and a fully equipped kitchen and fully accessible garden . Off road parking up to the door which accommodates our WAV vehicle which is van size. Dogs welcome on request. Lovely view we never get tired of looking at . A very special place !! Hard to find a place like this that accommodates my severely disabled husband so well. As a carer I really feel like I’ve had a break after visiting Croft Bungalow.
Transport & Parking
Off road parking down a drive which can accommodate our Ford Tourneo WAV . Very central to village and pubs .
Access
Wheelchair access at the rear of the cottage up a concrete ramp into the lounge . Nice wide door. Very short distance from parking area. No signage but Steve made us aware on first visit.
Toilets
Toilet is in wet room . Has rails either side . My husband finds it easier to use the commode chair as easier transfer but he has used toilet but finds it more difficult with worsening mobility. There is space for a carer to assist and to manoeuvre. We find the sink a bit low but my husband is a tall man .
Staff
Steve is always helpful and accommodating and has been extremely good to us when perhaps we’ve forgotten something or needed leeway on arrival or departure times . He’s given us suggestions on places to visit and told us about events going on in the village and advice on meal booking . He often checks in on us without being intrusive to make sure everything is ok . Top bloke !
