Overview
The surprising thing about visiting is what you see once you are inside. The Victorian exterior of the building suggests something of mature years and then you go inside to be greeted by a modern, spacious, bright light work space.
Transport & Parking
On street parking is available a short distance from the main door. There is also a car park in the building which can be used by arrangement.
Access
Getting in the building requires passing through two glass doors. An intercom alterts people to your presence and the reception team will "buzz you in". They were happy enough to help with the doors as they are a bit heavy for a manual wheelchair user. Once inside there are a couple of heavy doors to negotiate and then you have access to a spacious lift to go upstairs or you simply wheel along the corridor if visiting ground floor offices.
Toilets
The accessible loo was a surprise as it was quite spacious and had a good wide door for access. There are grab rails and it was spotlessly clean and tidy. Didn't see any emergency alarm cord.
Staff
Staff were superb. Very helpful and informative.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
If you happen to be visiting one of the organisations in the Creative Exchange you'll find accessibility to be pretty good. If you are looking to use the space it's certainly one of the more accessible venues in Edinburgh.
