Overview

This is our second stay in this cottage, this time my aunt and uncle joined us. The cottage is so well laid out for disabled guests . Plenty of space for me to get around using my special crutches indoors. We were able to park the car in the courtyard to unpack everything. Then move the car to the car park. I was able to borrow a wheelchair from them to save bringing mine and also a shower wheelchair. You can borrow just about anything from them. Which is really helpful . The bathroom which is a wet room ,is well set out with the height adjustable sink and plenty of grab rails . In the lounge I used the riser recliner chair but this unfortunately broke on the Wednesday morning and didn’t work for the rest of our stay. We did ask a volunteer who was serving coffee and cakes in the day room where we meet the other holiday makers ,but they didn’t know what we should do. The reception wasn’t manned from the Tuesday till the Friday morning . Which was when we were leaving so told them about the problem when we handed back the keys. On this visit the day room and laundry area were open for guests to use . There is a nice garden over looking the river Dee and royal estate.

Transport & Parking

We parked by the front of the cottage in the courtyard to take everything out of the car before moving the car to the car park

Access

Access is great everything on one level and wide doorways

Toilets

Grab rails round the toilet which is higher than a normal one

Staff

Maggie who is the receptionist is very helpful , making sure your settled in and she was able to tell us about a few places to visit that might be of interest to us all . As my uncle ad brought his painting things with him , she told them of a walk in braemar that would be good for him to sit and paint .
