Overview

Well thought out design for wheelchair users/disabled excellent area right beside the river Dee. Nothing is too much trouble for Maggie who oversees the running of the cottages. lt is approx 7 miles from Ballater and the same from Braemar. Various disabled equipment is on site just ask Maggie and she will let you know what is available. Finally a lovely spot to just chill out or see the sites in this lovely part of Scotland.

Transport & Parking

I drove there from Ellon and the parking is very adequate for disabled parking. Not too sure about bus service, no trains at all.

Access

No steps at all everything on the level but there are cottages with stairs to more bedrooms for the more able. There are a few seats in the immediate area.

Toilets

We had an accessible loo which was easy to find/ a bit tight to manoeuvre but easily managed/There is space for a carer/ Very clean loo along with the rest of the cottage.

Staff

Any staff or volunteers were friendly which makes the holiday a better experience.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Plenty space outside so no worries about being too close regarding covid. l have stayed here about 4 times and will be back another twice this year. They have a communal area if you want to meet up with anyone else. There are also freezers with each cottage allocated drawers inside, washing machines and driers.
