Our first holiday for 2 years made possible by the wonderful facilities at Crathie Opportunity Holidays. From booking to check out, the manager and her team were attentive, professional, kind and friendly, making us feel secure and relaxed. The cottage was cosy, warm, well equipped and fully accessible - low thresholds, wet room, grab rails, electric bed, riser recliner chair, ceiling hoist etc with lots more equipment which can be borrowed at no extra cost. Good weather allowed us to sit out on the patio watching the abundant bird life and hearing the water flowing down the river Dee outside. The onsite laundry was well equipped and upright freezer there allowed storage of frozen items for each cottage. Volunteer gardeners keep the grounds looking beautifully natural, and the weekly coffee morning in the Garden Room was a lovely get together with home baking and friendship of local volunteers. There is a lovely walk from the grounds along the river and 2 great cafes across the road (A93) are accessible to wheelchairs with toilet facilities also, very friendly helpful staff and great food. Nearby our trips to Crathie Church, Ballater and Braemar, Linn of Dee, the Lochnagar Distillery, and more, were marked by the helpfulness and friendliness of local people. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday.
