Overview
Level access into the building. Good to see that there was a cafe, library, council information point and now hearing aid battery service all under one roof.
Transport & Parking
Close to the bus stop with regular buses into Edinburgh city centre. There looked to be a couple of parking spaces nearby but we didn't have a car with us so didn't take too much notice.
Access
Level access with automatic doors. Fairly spacious and room to manoeuvre. Dropped counter at the information point.
Toilets
Spacious accessible loo with grab rails and good fittings. Let down by the positioning the door lock too high for many wheelchair users. The rotary nature of the door lock mechanism is exceedingly difficult to turn.
Staff
Helpful and approachable staff. Enthusiastic about the library and its services. Happy to help where required.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
It's a great one stop shop - particularly like the idea of getting a coffee in the library. Looked to be popular with people of all ages. Great attention to detail with the signage! And a vibrant place to read a book and more!
