Overview
Country Skittles is a venue that offers skittles, a games room, restaurant and bar. It is mostly wheelchair accessible with friendly and helpful staff.
Transport & Parking
It is located in the village of Townshend a few miles out of Hayle. It's seemingly in the middle of nowhere so use of Sat Nav is recommended. There is designated disabled parking near the entrance.
Access
The venue is not fully accessible, but they have done a decent job with it considering the likely age of the building. There is a gravel path from the carpark to the ramp to get you in the door. For some this might be challenging but the staff were very helpful and offered to assist. There are several large restaurant tables as you come in the door, but the bar is down a few steps. The toilets, skittles alleys and games room are all on the same level as the entrance. There was a step up to each of the skittles alleys but a metal ramp was provided.
Toilets
Although there isn't a designated disabled toilet, there is a cubicle in the gents (I'm assuming it's the same for the ladies) that is large enough to fit a manual wheelchair into. You might want to double-check the size of the cubicle beforehand if you use a particularly large wheelchair. The toilet has a fold-down baby changing table and a suitable bin. There isn't a sink in the cubicle.
Staff
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
