Overview

Set SAT NAV. GL7 3JJ. WOOLEN WEAVERS, LECHLADE A nice well cared for WOOLEN weaving outlet, with top quality garments on sale, a working weaving factory section, when working, and a small pleasant cafe. The Cotswold history revolves around sheep, that for over 500 years the sheep have created the rolling hills and landscapes. It’s the money produced from sheep that allowed the quarries here to be so successful, producing that lovely golden or grey like stone that makes a trip into the Cotswolds so delightful. Generations of hardworking shepherds, wool merchants and weavers have all made a mark on the land, and here in this very nice little outlet, you can see a design studio, a museum, furniture, a rug warehouse, and outside a sculpture gallery, and when you need to sit and contemplate on how to wisely spend your money, you can take a break to think at the coffee shop. The village of Filkins, where the outlet lies, is on an ancient route across the Cotswolds and down towards the South West, with lovely mellow limestone buildings offering an overview of past splendour, where this short break will prove to be of interest to you we feel sure.

Transport & Parking

4

Lots of parking spaces, on the flat, and easy to get you into the outlet

Access

2.5

There is a low small step at the main entrance, but your carer should be able to get you up it, then a lot of the interior is on the level for you, but there are one or two areas that have steps, but it won’t spoil your visit

Toilets

0

We are sure there are toilets here, but we had no need of them.

Staff

2.5

Very few to be seen, but they were ok
