Overview
We visited the museum and were expecting to both pay, so it was an added bonus that my husband went free as a carer. I didn't have great expectations as the museum looks quite small from the outside but entering through a Dr Who style tardis is quite appropriate. There are 8 rooms full of really interesting stuff and I had no problems getting round in my wheelchair.
Transport & Parking
We arrived by motorhome and parked in the coach park next door to the Co-op petrol station. There is an area for motorhomes but parking is expensive! £10.50 for 5 hours! Blue badge holders pay full amount. If you can find it, there is a lovely footpath that leads into town and comes out near the motoring museum.
Access
In general, wheelchair access around the museum was good. It is all on one level and the floors are solid and smooth. There are 8 rooms and they are linked by doors. Some of them are a bit awkward to open as they have a small ramp or a lip but with hubby to help, I managed just fine. If they could improve access at all, I would love to see automatic doors.
Toilets
I don't think the museum has any toilets but there are toilets nearby in town.
Staff
The staff were friendly, helpful and polite.
