Transport & Parking

Although the building itself does not have a dedicated parking space the town centre is surrounded by small/medium car parks with many disabled spaces available. Due to the location in the town centre, it is also surrounded by many bus stops that cover almost all of Billingaham and even surrounding towns.

Access

There is no steps at all in this building. Although the front door is a push door it is very easy to push and then walk through on a rollter and as long as they aren't run off their feet the staff will come and hold the door for you if they see you. They have an induction loop, disabled toilet, patient staff and many different heights and styles of seating available, this is handy for someone like me with differing pain levels as I can choose a more cushioned chair on higher pain days.

Toilets

There is a disabled toilet at the end of the small toilet corridor. This toilet is of a great side with more than enough room to manoeuvre, transfer and have a carer in there too. There are rails and the red cord is left to fall naturally to the floor. My only issue with it is the door is one on an automatic close thingy which can be helpful when inside but it seems to close fast so using on my rollter I can have to stop to push open again before beign fully in or get hit by the door.

Staff

The staff here are amazing. They are so kind and friendly and no matter what happens or my needs I never feel judged. They tell me to go sit down and they'll bring my tray over even if I have a carer with me and were more than happy to help me change chairs/tables when I was in alone and suddenly needed a more padded chair.
