Overview
The Corran Ferry is carry ferry that crosses Lock Linnhe and connects Fort William, Ardgour, Sunart, Ardnamurchan, Moidart, Morar, Morvern and the Isle of Mull. The ferry runs 7 days a week and the journey time is about 5 minutes, with a ferry every 15 - 20 minutes. The Corran Ferry does not operate on 25 and 26 December, 1 and 2 January. It is a beautiful but short crossing. I did the journey as one way towards Mull as part of a coach tour. Our group stayed on the minibus during the crossing, so found it very accessible. There is a charge for using the service.
Transport & Parking
Travellers stay in their vehicle during the short crossing. At busy times there maybe a queue and the cars line up and await to board the ferry.
Access
The drive on - drive off car ferry is very accessible as we saying in the minibus, which made the journey very accessible and stress free. I think there are options for pedestrians to board, but there does not appear to be public transport to join the ferry.
Toilets
There are no toilets on the ferry. However, there are accessible toilets available at both ends, which require a RADAR key. I saw them but did not use them.
Staff
I had no contact with staff, but they were very efficient getting the vehicles on board and they enabled a quick and safe journey.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Don't forget to look out for the Corran Light House as you sail past. It was a fun and beautiful way to access the Isle of Mull quickly. Would happily use the ferry again.
