Overview
This is a frustratingly awful hotel - not because of accessibility but because of pathetic service and inadequate systems. We booked a twin accessible room, checked that booking two days before arrival and it took one hour (yes, 60 minutes) to check in. In that time we were told that such a room did not exist but we pointed out that we stayed in it last year and the year before. Then it finally materialised. Next morning the keys didn't work and we were asked to come down to reception to sort it out. Finally they sent someone up and the locks has to be repaired. The catalogue of incompetence gets worse but I will spare the reader. Apart from the room booking and the non-working intercom between adjoining rooms, our problems were not directly related to disability BUT they should be aware that we cannot easily pop down to reception every time there is an issue.
Transport & Parking
There is some disabled parking but it seems time-limited. We didn't have a car so I am not sure of this.
Access
Step-free access to the hotel and restaurant. Lift access to all floors but they can be too busy to fit a wheelchair. Good access to accessible room in that if you room key works (50% chance only) the door opens, thereby avoiding having to push it.
Toilets
Accessible loo on ground floor but it could be situated closer to the restaurant.
Staff
Incompetent
Anything else you wish to tell us?
It is really hard to find an accessible hotel in London, particularly one with twin beds. After this catalogue of disasters we are actively seeking an alternative.
