Overview

Friendly, busy beach with happy atmosphere. Copacabana Beach has many facilities including; restaurant, WC, water-sports, refreshment vans and a dog beach close by. The beach itself is wheelchair friendly, with pebble paths running the majority length of the beach, disabled access lifts; allowing wheelchair users to be lifted into the sea and concrete piers in some areas allowing full access for wheelchair users to sun beds in these areas.

Transport & Parking

Although we did not drive ourselves, we were able to see that the carpark, although small, was on a level ground that would accommodate wheelchair users to smoothly get from the parking space to the concrete pier on the beach, from there they are able to access the pebble path that leads to the restaurant, WC and water-sports activities. However from what I could gather, there was no obvious spaces allocated to disabled parking, Making it uncertain whether there would defiantly be a space upon arrival.

Access

I was pleasantly surprised to see a disabled access chair lift to the sea, for those inclined to go for a swim. The chair allowed for extra freedom and opportunities for those unable to use the steps or access the sea via the pebble beach. Copacabana beach also had a pebble path for a long stretch along the beach, allowing for wheelchair friendly access right along the majority of the beach, the restaurant was also accessable and served decent meals, however quite expensive.

Toilets

I was unable to see a disabled toilet at Copacabana. Although the regular toilets were fairly easy to access (ie. no step) once in the building there was little space, I would imagine a wheelchair user would struggle with the lack of space and also the quality of these toilets was poor. For one of the busiest beaches in Dubrovnik I would also believe that only having 2 female toilets is not enough.

Staff

We did not encounter many staff on our visit, but those we did seemed very friendly.
