Overview
A cafe selling the most decadent waffles, crepes and confectonary. Although not step free into the cafe, there is a outdoor seating.
Transport & Parking
Ballanger is located on the main shopping street with Tram Line Number 1 running past it. The tram is the easiest way to get there as it is step free and the Massena tram stop is the nearest although Jean Medecin tram stop is also nearby.
Access
There is some free standing outdoor table and chairs at street level. There was also a small counter outside but that was closed when I visited. There is a single step into the cafe. The cafe is self service, with ordering and collecting food at the counter. The counters are at standing height but they have glass so you can view the display food. The was a single corner seating with table at this level and then stairs up to the cafe area. I always managed to get the corner seating on the ground floor. I didn't go upstairs, there is a handrail but the stairs have a turn in them, sorry I forgot to take photos of this.
Toilets
There was a ground floor toilet but I didn't use if and I don't know whether or not it is accessible.
Staff
Staff were brilliant and really helpful. They always brought my tray to the table. Service generally was also excellent.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I have passed Ballanger many times when I visit Nice for Christmas, but have not gone inside as there have been long queues. It was a lot quieter this time and the queues are justified as the food is delicious and it's beautifully presented. It's good value as a waffle and granita only cost 10 euros but it was delicious and filling. I visited twice this time and I will be back on my next visit to Nice.
