Overview
A wheelchair accessible coffee shop situated in the picturesque town of Cardigan. Serving good coffee with lovely friendly service. The only slight downsides is unless you can get parked on the road, there is a long hill to get up. Fine if you use a powered wheelchair. Also the disabled toilet in the premesis is slightly tight, but the friendly staff are on hand to help.
Transport & Parking
The parking is in a public car park or on street parking. The disabled bays are spacious and Ceredigion Council offers free parking to tax exempt vehicles. The unfortunate thing is there is a steep hill to climb to the main high street where the coffee shop is situated. There used to be a lift, but the shop in which it is situated at the back of, is currently closed and up for let.
Access
The access is from a very minor ramp and the door is wide enough for me to get my powered wheelchair through. However the door is a pull to open and push to get back out. Which can be a bit tricky. In my experience the customers usually help. However a bell to raise awareness of those neeeding help would be an added benefit.
Toilets
The loo is clean but the proportions are tight as is the corridor on which it is situated. However Coffee #1 has done their best given the restrictions of an old building.
Staff
I was blown away by helpful the staff were. The head barista on today was knowledgable, helpful and a lovely warm friendly person. This extended to the other members of staff on.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I would happily recommend this coffee shop to anyone visiting Cardigan. In the years I have used it, I have never once had a bad experience.
