Overview
CodeBase is a technology hub for people and businesses who do amazing things with technology. It serves as home for people who want a hot desk now and again, people more established who need space to work, through to established businesses who want office and meeting space. As part of the mission to highlight what is happening and what is good in the world of technology; there is a large multipurpose event space. Playing host to visiting events and people, internal gatherings and a whole array of tech based events.
Transport & Parking
Parking in the area can be difficult but for Blue Badge holders there are accessible parking bays adjacent to the Traverse Theatre and the Lyceum Theatre which are quite close. Arriving by bus it is probably best to aim for the Usher Hall and walk through from there. Some of the crossings leave a bit to be desired if you are a wheelchair user as the surfaces can be quite uneven. Taxis can drop off at the door which is helpful. Cyclists can lock their bikes to the bike racks in the street.
Access
The building is large and fairly spacious. Security requirements mean that some doors need security passes to get through and these are often very easy doors. When visiting you would be accompanied so this should not be a problem. Visiting events in the ‘Events Space’ is very accessible as there is a lot of circulation space. Throughout the building the corridors are wide an it is easy to pass people and other wheelchair users. The hot desk and social space area is adjacent to the coffee ‘shop’ too which is great. There are a variety of seating and table options too.
Toilets
The toilets are adjacent to the main reception. A short corridor takes you to the different toilets. A spacious accessible toilet is located immediately on the left as you enter the toilet lobby area.
Staff
Staff are very welcoming and friendly. If you need a hand with anything they will do their best to help.
