Overview
Called in here on a long journey south. There are plenty coffee shops in Aviemore so we went with a familiar name, as we're regulars in their Marchmont branch. Sadly the number of customers must have a bearing on quality. Over strong coffee served in brimming cups.....how do you avoid spilling some on the first sip?? Rock hard scones served with over soft butter and pre packed jam. Left both coffee and scone.
Transport & Parking
Aviemore on a busy Saturday is not an easy place to park. There are a few disabled parking bays but they were all taken. We were lucky as a parking place right outside the venue became available, but had this not happened the walk from the car park would have taken me about five minutes.
Access
Seating was limited. Outside tables would provide a resting place. No signage or alternative formats. No stairs and accessible toilet on same floor.
Toilets
The toilet facilities, or more accurately, the lack of them is my motivation for writing this review. The accessible loo is situated in the space under the stairs which basically doubles as the storage area for the café. There was little space for manoeuvre as the toilet shares the space with the stock of soft drinks, a filthy floor brush, bucket and mop. A broken door is propped against the all a metre from the WC. The area is grubby, neglected and dispiriting.
Staff
The staff were young and largely preoccupied with plans for Saturday night. Understandable but not helpful.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I would not recommend this to anyone. I have e-mailed their managing director with my observations about the accessible toilet and await his reply. I will not be returning to this venue or any other run by the firm,
