Coatdyke Station
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair, Powerchair
Overview
This station is very poor to get to platform 1 you have to go up two lots of stairs or via a rather steep ramp / path there is also a step at the top of the ramp/ path Platform one is for Glasgow and beyond. To access platform 2 to travel towards Edinburgh you have to use the over bridge again this means having to climb two sets of stairs to go up and two to get back down. It would be imposable to self propel up the ramp/path to platform 1 and it would be a struggle to push someone up in a chair. Power chairs would also struggle at the top end of the ramp/ path
Transport & Parking
The Parking at this station is in general not good and the car park is normal full by around 8am. unable to see any Blue Badge spaces
Access
This station is not suitable for anyone in a wheelchair because of the access issues. A person who has a stick might manage to get up to stairs to platform 1 but this would be down to the individual person and there own ability.
Toilets
There are no toilets at this station
Staff
This station is unstaffed there are ticket machines on platform 1
Anything else you wish to tell us?
It would not be a good idea to plan to travel from or two this station if you have any type of disability because of the access issues
