Overview

We've been to the Disabled Friendly Cottages in Bircham, Norfolk twice. This pretty spot lies on the outskirts of the village and is 5 miles away from the Sandringham estate. There are several cottages on the site, all adapted for wheelchair users. On both occasions we stayed at the Little Workshop. But don't be deceived by the name. This is a gargantuan cottage with oodles of space. The open plan living area is vast and provides a spectacular view across open countryside. This view is as good as anything we've experienced with the National Trust Cottages before my wife became confined to a wheelchair. There is a patio with furniture, to dine alfresco when the weather allows. And you will enjoy plenty of passing wildlife - particularly small birds and the occasional owl.
