Overview
Great if you are able to do stairs but very limited rides if you are a wheelchair user or require step free access. Chessington do have a ‘Ride access pass’ which needs to be applied for in advance. This will enable those who need to, to queue in a quieter, shorter queue and be free to roam the park until their next ride time. Great wheelchair access around the Zoo, Sealife, and the new Jumanji area. Just a shame a lot of the other rides are not as accessible and require many steps. Plenty of disabled toilets, accessed by a Radar key. Shops and restaurants are also accessible to wheelchairs.
Transport & Parking
Plenty of parking and a great disabled car park which is closer to the entrance. Good public transport links. Bus stop on site.
Access
Step free access all across the Zoo and Sealife Centre. Suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Unfortunately lots of the rides do have steps to access and are not accessible to wheelchair users. Limited benches and seating unless in or directly outside one of the restaurants.
Toilets
Plenty of disabled toilets accessed by a Radar Key. All plenty big enough for wheelchair and carer but lacking in grab rails. One Changing Places toilet. Toilets could be cleaned more often but are at least useable.
Staff
Most staff are friendly and welcoming but a small few let them down with a bad attitude and don’t appear to care much. Guest services are helpful and try to help but don’t go out of their way.
