Overview

This ChargeYourCar Charging Station is located at the Underwood Road Recycling Centre, or as most know it, the Paisley Dump. There are two chargers, an Evolt machine and a Charging Places Scotland machine, serving four parking spaces. This location has side-on parking - the chargers are on the pavement on the passenger side. Located at the main entrance to the Recycling Centre, it can get busy. The charging services are only available when the Recycling Centre is open, the current signs at the location explain the charging points are not available between 18:30 and 06:30.

Transport & Parking

The spaces at this location are the size of standard parking spaces. Located on the main access route to the recycling centre, the spaces are easy to access but may be difficult to exit when there’s a queue for the local services. The closest bus stop is on Well Street which is 160 metres away, on a steep hill.

Access

This location is accessible from the street, with the charging points on the tarmac pavements. The Charging Places machine is elevated on the pavement with bollards on either side of the machine. This machine has a touchscreen with a card reader below. The Evolt charger is smaller, with bollards on either side. The machine has physical buttons with a card reader on the front of the machine. Both chargers have cables provided. There is a dropped kerb, but this is close to the entrance, meaning you need to go on the road against the flow of traffic to use it.
