Overview
We were visiting the town and found this lovely cafe . We had parked our car near the castle.only two blue badge spaces here by the entrance to the castle which wasn’t accessible for a wheelchair or scooter. From here we walked into the town which wasn’t far. This cafe was set in the corner of a walkway no traffic unless your delivering to the other shops in this passage, the cafe was accessible no step into it but I could only sit in one area as there were steps up to the rest of the seating area and also where you order drinks and cakes. This wasn’t a problem as my husband , aunt and uncle were with me. They told me what cakes and drinks were available. The area where we sat isn’t very big but enough room for me to stay sat in my scooter at the table. The hot drinks and cakes were really good . Staff were helpful and brought our drinks to the table . We did visit other shops in this passage but I couldn’t access them as they were up steps. But the staff in the shops were happy for my aunt to bring items to the door to show me.
Transport & Parking
We didn’t see much in the way of parking we had Ostend by the castle ruin. Only two blue badge badge spaces here.there was some on street parking in the town. We also saw plenty of bus stops
Access
No access to the castle ruin for disabled visitors. The cafe was accessible but only part of it . I couldn’t get to the counter to order or see the cakes . Not a problem as I was with family
Toilets
My aunt told me the toilets were up sone stairs so not at all accessible
Staff
Staff were helpful and were able to trill us about ingredients used in the cakes, sandwiches .
