Overview

This pub is just outside Sandown town center. On the main road in. Fully accessible. No steps. Car park. Bus stops near by. Large garden. Really great food and amazing value. Wide range of food. Really worth a visit. Great staff. Kids play area (but you can sit the other side of the pub if you want to avoid it). Disabled toilet.

Transport & Parking

There is a car park directly by an accessible entrance. The car park seemed level and flat. There did not appear to be a disabled space and it was fairly small car park. The pub is on the main road into Sandown and there are bus stops nearby. There is a regular bus service to Ryde and back into Sandown and onto Shanklin and beyond.

Access

There was great access. The entrance nearest to the car park was flat. It had double doors which easily opened. It is flat throughout It is a bit tight to get through in places but you can manage if you are careful. The other entrances appeared to have a very small step in. With a little bit of help you'd get a wheelchair over them fairly easily.

Toilets

There is a disabled toilet with shared baby changing. The door opens outward. Did not appear to be any alarm and the lock was a simple bolt. There are grab handles but it was still a struggle to get round the toilet. There was plenty of space. To get to the toilet there is a door which makes it a bit tight but I think you can also access it from the childs play area.

Staff

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The barman quickly came from out of behind the bar to assist when I struggled a bit with the doors to the toilets and moved chairs to help me get to the table.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The food is really great and wll presented. Whatever you order, make sure you get the tripled cooked chips. These are the best chips I have tasted. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. Perfect.
