Overview
This tennis centre has been specially designed to accommodate people in wheelchairs and it is spectacular! The facilities are absolutely fantastic and the staff could not be more helpful. They are yet to mark out any blue badge parking spaces, but there is plenty of space in the car park for wheelchair accessible vehicles. The old clubhouse apparently burned down in 2013, and since it has been rebuilt it has been designed to be 100% wheelchair friendly. There are wide corridors and disabled toilets as well as state of the art tennis courts that are entirely wheelchair friendly. If you enjoy playing tennis, this tennis club is definitely one of the best for anyone in a wheelchair.
Transport & Parking
Plenty of parking and room to manoeuver a large vehicle such as a WAV. There are currently no blue badge spaces marked out, but there is plenty of parking close to the clubhouse, and I have been told that these spaces will be marked out in the near future.
Access
Access into both the clubhouse and onto the courts is absolutely fantastic! There are wide gates onto the courts and wide doors and corridors in the clubhouse, making it so easy to get around. There is also a lowered section of the bar making it easy to purchase drinks after a session - a really nice touch!
Toilets
A large and very well maintained accessible loo with plenty of room for a wheelchair and a carer if necessary.
Staff
All coaches are extremely well trained in wheelchair tennis, and could not have been more helpful or supportive. The staff inside the clubhouse were also extremely helpful and very happy - a really positive vibe between all the staff and visitors.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This tennis club is a really great way of getting involved in exercise and having some fun with others who are in a similar situation. I would highly recommend this tennis club to anyone looking to participate in a fun and engaging activity.
