Overview
Pleasantly surprised that the most disabled friendly facility in our trip to Aviemore turned out to be 3,500ft up the Cairngorm! The funicular is thoroughly recommended for able bodied and wheel chair users as a great day out. Fantastic exhibition, great cafes, stunning views, and highly accessible facility.
Transport & Parking
Plenty of car parking, but make sure you park towards the right hand side of the building to access through the disability Scotland Ski centre entrance to avoid the steep incline to the main entrance.
Access
Accessible entrance could be better signposted for main building, however furnicular access in particular was all perfect, well signposted, and easy to use. Staff very helpful, lifts between all the floors and easy access onto the furnicular carriage.
Toilets
Toilets clean tidy, grab rails and plenty of space to manoeuvre with carer and wheel chair.
Staff
Helpful and friendly throughout.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
We were worried it might be a challenge going on the furnicular with a wheel chair user. However as advertised it was indeed fully accessible. Couldn’t fault a thing.
